Magic: The Gathering reveals Reality Fracture expansion details

Wizards of the Coast has unveiled details for the upcoming Magic: The Gathering expansion, Reality Fracture. The set serves as the narrative conclusion to a three-year story arc, focusing on the character Jace Beleren. In the storyline, Jace attempts to rewrite the multiverse into an alternative reality known as the Echoverse to eliminate previous threats like the Phyrexians and Eldrazi.

Mechanically, the set introduces the Empower Jace mechanic, which allows players to create Jace tokens with specific loyalty abilities. This new mechanic has received a mixed reception from the player community. Some players have expressed concerns regarding its prevalence across all rarities, which may impact specific formats like Pauper.

The expansion also introduces the Hexhaven setting and will feature updates for the digital platform MTG Arena, including news regarding the Alchemy format.
