Magic: The Gathering to host first MagicCon in Japan in 2027

Wizards of the Coast has designated 2027 as ‘The Year of the Gathering’ for the trading card game Magic: The Gathering. A major highlight of this year will be the first-ever MagicCon to be held in Japan.

The MagicCon event series will span four cities across three continents in 2027. The scheduled locations and dates include:

• Detroit, USA: February 26–28 • Tokyo, Japan: May 14–16 • Las Vegas, USA: August 27–29 • Amsterdam, Netherlands: December 3–5

Additionally, the Magic Limited Championship 2027 is scheduled to take place in Minneapolis, Minnesota, from June 18–20. The company also plans to release several new sets throughout the year, including Universe Beyond expansions.
