Magic: The Gathering to release record-breaking Star Trek set

Wizards of the Coast is preparing to release a Star Trek-themed set for Magic: The Gathering, which is set to break records for the number of new creature types introduced in a single expansion.

At least 32 new creature types have already been revealed, including iconic species such as Vulcan, Klingon, Romulan, Borg, and Ferengi. This high volume of diversity is tied to a new game mechanic called ‘Federation,’ which scales based on the variety of creature types present on the battlefield.

The set is scheduled for release on November 13, 2026.
