Magnatear entered in Shannon Stakes following strategy change

Trainers Richard and Will Freedman have adjusted their racing strategy for the gelding Magnatear, deciding to enter him in the Shannon Stakes. The decision aims to ensure the seven-year-old reaches peak fitness for his primary target, the $3 million Big Dance at Randwick on Melbourne Cup day.

The revised schedule will see Magnatear compete in the Shannon Stakes, followed by the Alan Brown Stakes, before heading to the Big Dance in November. This change replaces an original plan that would have bypassed the Shannon Stakes to focus on the Alan Brown Stakes first.

Magnatear has earned over $750,000 in prize money from 32 starts, including seven wins and 15 placings. He previously secured a spot in the Big Dance by winning the Muswellbrook Cup in March.
