Greek cities impose traffic bans for SNF NOSTOS RUN and EKO Rally

On Tuesday, 23 June, Athens and the neighbouring municipality of Kallithea will enforce extensive traffic restrictions to accommodate the Special Olympics "SNF NOSTOS RUN 2026" road races (10 km, 6 km and 1 km). Beginning at 20:30, vehicle flow will be halted on major thoroughfares such as Vassilissa Konstantinou, Vassilissa Sofia, Ardittou, Anapauseos, M. Mousourou, Rizari, Kokkali and several others, with a ban on parking from 06:00 until the event ends. The police advise drivers to use alternative routes or public transport.

A separate set of restrictions will take effect on Thursday, 25 June, in the Elliniko‑Argyroupoli area for the EKO Rally Acropolis 2026. The Hellenic Police (ELAS) will close roads around The Ellinikon, including sections of the Aviation Avenue, Lamias Street and Eleftheriou Venizelou Avenue, prohibiting traffic and parking between 08:00 and 22:00. Commuters are urged to rely on the metro, tram and bus services and to park only in designated areas.
