Magnitude to continue racing under Winchell as Coolmore secures breeding rights

Magnitude, a 4‑year‑old Thoroughbred rated among the world’s top racehorses, will remain in the colors of Winchell Thoroughbreds for the rest of his racing career. The stable confirmed the colt will target high‑profile handicap and stakes events this autumn while continuing his undefeated 4‑year‑old campaign.

Coolmore’s Ashford Stud in Kentucky has agreed to acquire Magnitude’s breeding rights. Under the deal, the colt will retire to stand at Ashford after his racing days end, providing a multi‑million‑dollar stallion prospect. Owner Ron Winchell and Ashford representative Charlie O’Connor both praised the agreement.

Magnitude’s recent achievements include a gate‑to‑wire victory in the $12 million Dubai World Cup (G1) at Meydan, a win in the $2 million Stephen Foster Stakes (G1) at Churchill Downs, and dominant performances in the Iowa Derby (G3) and other Grade 1 and Grade 2 events. He is trained by Hall of Famer Steve Asmussen and is by Not This Time out of the Bernardini mare Rockadelic.
