Magnum Ice Cream Company expands Ben & Jerry’s production in Germany

The Magnum Ice Cream Company (TMICC) has launched a new Ben & Jerry’s production line at its flagship factory in Heppenheim, Germany. This move is part of a €30 million investment program aimed at upgrading the facility, which includes improvements to cold warehousing, logistics networks, and sustainable energy infrastructure.

The Heppenheim site, which spans 100,000 square metres, serves as a major manufacturing and distribution hub for Germany and neighboring European markets. The new line will produce premium pints featuring large chunks and swirls, supplementing existing Ben & Jerry’s production hubs in Gloucester, UK, and Hellendoorn, Netherlands.

TMICC officials noted that the expansion is driven by rising European demand. In Germany, Ben & Jerry’s has seen growth through new formats and flavors, with approximately 40% of sales occurring during the winter months.
