Magnus Carlsen's Magnuschess posts record profit in 2025

Magnus Carlsen's investment company Magnuschess reported a strong financial year in 2025. Revenue reached 61 million Norwegian kroner, up from 19 million the year before. After‑tax profit more than doubled to 34.8 million kroner, compared with 16.4 million in 2024.

Carlsen owns 87.5 % of the firm, while his father Henrik Carlsen holds the remaining 12.5 % and serves as chairman. The duo allocated a 10 million‑kroner dividend for 2025 after taking out 20 million kroner in 2024. The company's asset base grew to about 130 million kroner, driven mainly by long‑term financial investments.

In addition to the business success, Carlsen had a busy chess season, winning Norway Chess for the seventh time, clinching titles in rapid and blitz, and securing victories in Paris and the Esports World Cup.
