Magnus Ferrell, the 22‑year‑old son of actor Will Ferrell, has broken onto the music scene with his single “Asleep Talking.” The track entered the Billboard charts and saw a surge in streams after Will Ferrell played it on former First Lady Michelle Obama’s “IMO” podcast. Magnus says the attention feels “like a weird dream” and acknowledges the “nepo baby” label, noting that while his family name brings extra exposure, the music itself must earn listeners.

He has launched a residency called “Magnus Ferrell and Friends Live” at Los Angeles’ Blue Note club, adding shows through August and September. In a light‑hearted interview, Magnus joked that production on the 2005 comedy Kicking & Screaming was temporarily halted by his birth, a humorous nod to his soccer‑loving upbringing.
