Magnus Landin returns to Denmark, signs with Aalborg Handball
Magnus Landin, the 30‑year‑old left wing of the Danish national handball team, has left German club THW Kiel after seven seasons to join Aalborg Håndbold. He said the move was driven by a desire to be closer to family and friends in Denmark and to return to the Champions League, which Aalborg regularly competes in.
Landin highlighted the personal aspect of the transfer, stating, “I missed daily life in Denmark and wanted to be nearer to my family.” The switch also reunites him with his older brother, goalkeeper Niklas Landin, at the Danish club. His first training session with Aalborg took place on Thursday, marking the start of a new chapter in his career.
The former Kiel player acknowledged that his departure could have been handled differently, but emphasized that Aalborg offered the best fit for his next steps.
