Maguette Sène launches

Maguette Sène, the deputy-mayor of Malicounda, has officially launched a new political coalition named "And Liggéey Gox Yi." During a launch ceremony held in Grand Yoff, Sène presented a roadmap focused on addressing Senegal's territorial imbalances, specifically the economic concentration in Dakar.

The coalition advocates for a new development model centered on decentralization. Sène argues that the state should not be the sole driver of public policy, but should instead empower local territories with the necessary resources, responsibilities, and decision-making capabilities. The vision aims to prevent youth migration from rural areas by creating local opportunities.

Key priorities outlined by the coalition include improving basic social services such as healthcare infrastructure, education (through the construction of schools and colleges), access to water via new boreholes, and rural electrification.
