Magyar Stratégiai Zrt. reports profit after previous billion-forint loss
Magyar Stratégiai Zrt., the central holding company owned by Ádám Matolcsy, the son of former central bank governor György Matolcsy, reported a profit of 407.4 million HUF for the 2025 fiscal year. This follows a significant loss of 2.76 billion HUF in 2024, which was largely attributed to 1.6 billion HUF in other expenses.
The company's financial report, submitted on August 8, was released significantly later than the statutory May 31 deadline, a deadline the company had consistently met in previous years. Despite the turnaround in profit, the company's equity decreased from 5.5 billion HUF to 3 billion HUF due to the write-off of the previous year's losses. However, the total value of assets grew from 25.6 billion HUF in 2023 to 36.6 billion HUF by the end of 2024.
According to owner decisions, the entire taxed profit will be transferred to earnings reserves rather than being distributed as dividends.
