MAHA 2026 concludes with viral social media reactions

The conclusion of the Malaysia Agriculture, Horticulture and Agrotourism Exhibition (MAHA) 2026 has drawn significant social media attention following a viral story of a child crying due to the event's end. Visitor Janatun Maqwa shared that her child was so immersed in the experience that they became upset upon learning it was the final day.

Minister of Agriculture and Food Security, Datuk Seri Mohamad Sabu, responded to the post, offering words of comfort to the child and thanking parents for bringing their families to the exhibition. He noted that seeing children learn and create memories makes the organizational efforts worthwhile.

In response to the event's success, social media users have suggested expanding the exhibition's scale. Proposals include organizing regional-level events in the North, South, East Coast, Sabah, and Sarawak every four months, leading up to a national event at the Malaysia Agriculture Showground and Exhibition Centre (MAEPS) in Serdang.
