MAHA 2026 records RM12.6 billion in MoUs

The Malaysia Agriculture, Horticulture and Agrotourism Exhibition (MAHA) 2026 has recorded Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) values totaling RM12.6 billion, significantly exceeding the initial target of RM8 billion. Agriculture and Food Security Minister Datuk Seri Mohamad Sabu noted that the achievement reflects high investor confidence in Malaysia's agrifood industry.

Key contributors to the total include RM4 billion in investment commitments from China and a RM1.5 billion agreement involving the National Farmers Organization (NAFAS), Guizhou Phosphate Chemical (GPC) Group, and Jiangsu Chemical Design Institute Co Ltd (CDIJS). This specific partnership aims to develop an integrated fertilizer industry in Malaysia through raw material processing, technology transfer, and local capacity building to strengthen national food security.

Other high-impact agreements include a collaboration between several Malaysian companies—Top Fruits Sdn Bhd, JL Food Industries Sdn Bhd, Golden Fresh Durian Sdn Bhd, and Phg Ever Fresh Food Sdn Bhd—and Chinese strategic partners to expand the market for premium Malaysian fresh durians in China under the ‘Jiangnan Selected’ brand.

In addition to the MoUs, the event has attracted 3.45 million visitors and generated sales exceeding RM55 million, nearing the RM58 million target. The exhibition is held at the Malaysia Agriculture Park Expo (MAEPS) in Serdang.
