MAHA 2026 records RM1.49 billion in MoUs on opening day

The Malaysia Agriculture, Horticulture and Agrotourism Exhibition (MAHA) 2026 has seen significant investment activity. On the first day of the event at Malaysia Agro Exposition Park Serdang (MAEPS), 14 Memorandums of Understanding (MoU) worth RM1.49 billion were signed, covering sectors such as food, livestock, pineapple, fertilizer, and agricultural technology.

Agriculture Minister Datuk Seri Mohamad Sabu noted that these agreements aim to expand markets and attract investment through the ‘MAHA Go-Global’ initiative, which seeks to push Malaysian agrifood products into international markets. The minister expressed hope that these collaborations will lead to technology transfers and economic opportunities for local producers.

In conjunction with the exhibition, the state of Johor signed three MoUs valued at RM7.4 million to strengthen its agricultural and agrifood sectors. Johor also introduced the Johor Agricultural Research and Development Centre (JARDC) as a high-impact one-stop center to support innovation and development within the state's agricultural industry, aligning with the Maju Johor 2030 aspirations.
