Mahakaleshwar Temple conducts Bhasma Aarti in Ujjain

The world-renowned Mahakaleshwar Temple in Ujjain held its traditional Bhasma Aarti early Thursday morning. Following the opening of the temple gates at 4:00 AM, priests performed sacred rituals including the Panchamrit Abhishek, where the deity was bathed with milk, curd, ghee, honey, and sugar.

During the ceremony, Lord Mahakal was adorned in a royal appearance, featuring a Sheshnag crown and a Mundmal. The ritual concluded with the offering of sacred ash (Bhasma), a practice central to the temple's identity. Large numbers of devotees gathered to witness the ceremony and seek blessings for prosperity and well-being, with temple administration implementing special security and crowd management measures to facilitate the event.
