Mahakaleshwar Temple conducts Bhasma Aarti in Ujjain

The Bhasma Aarti was performed at the Mahakaleshwar Temple in Ujjain on Saturday, marking the Ashwin Shukla Paksha Saptami तिथि. Large numbers of devotees gathered in the temple premises to witness the ritual.

Following traditional protocols, the temple doors were opened with drums and percussion after seeking permission from Lord Veerabhadra. The deity underwent Abhishekam using Panchamrit, consisting of milk, curd, ghee, honey, and fruit juice. Following the camphor Aarti, the deity was adorned with a crown, Bel Patra, and Rudraksha malas.

The Bhasma Aarti, offered by the Mahanirvani Akhara, was conducted amidst the sounds of bells, conch shells, and chants. Devotees had been queuing since the night to participate in the ceremony.
