Mahakaleshwar Temple fire arati in Ujjain attracts massive crowd

On Wednesday, June 24, the Mahakaleshwar (Mahakaleshwar) Temple in Ujjain held a fire arati (bhav sr) ceremony for the deity Baba Mahakal. Thousands of devotees lined up through the night to witness the ritual, which featured the opening of the deity's doors with drums and the chanting of "Jai Shri Mahakal" throughout the sanctuary.

The ceremony included a Panchamrit abhishek using milk, yogurt, ghee, sugar and fruit juice, and the offering of holy water mixed with sacred herbs and cow dung ash. Traditional dress codes were enforced, and a large police presence was deployed to maintain order around the temple complex.
