Mahakaleshwar Temple holds Bhasma Aarti in Ujjain

A grand Bhasma Aarti ceremony was held on Wednesday morning at the Mahakaleshwar Temple in Ujjain, one of the twelve Jyotirlingas. Before the ritual, the deity was anointed with water and Panchamrit, followed by decorative adornments of flowers and sandalwood. As per tradition, the Mahanirvani Akhara offered sacred ash (Bhasma) during the ceremony, which drew a large number of devotees to the temple.

Preparations are also underway for a major religious event scheduled for October 17 during the Shardiya Navratri festival. Led by Ujjain North MLA Anil Jain Kaluheda, the event aims to host a massive Mahayagya and Kanya Pujan. The program intends to involve the simultaneous worship of over 31,000 young girls across 151 locations within the Ujjain North constituency. Approximately 5,000 workers are managing the logistics for the ritual, which is expected to be witnessed by nearly 150,000 people.
