Mahakaleshwar Temple holds sacred Bhasma Aarti in Ujjain

Devotees gathered at the Shri Mahakaleshwar Temple in Ujjain to witness the sacred Bhasma Aarti. During the ritual, the deity was adorned with special decorations including bhang, a silver crown, a moon, a tripund, a trinetra, and a mund mala.

The ceremony involved the traditional offering of panchamrit, composed of milk, curd, ghee, honey, and fruit juice, followed by the application of sacred ash. Priests performed the rituals amidst Vedic chants, bells, and conch sounds. Large numbers of pilgrims traveled from across the world to participate in the ceremony, which is believed to transform the deity from a formless state to a tangible form for the devotees.
