Mahakaleshwar Temple holds sacred Bhasma Aarti in Ujjain
Devotees gathered at the Shri Mahakaleshwar Temple in Ujjain to witness the sacred Bhasma Aarti during the Bhadrapada Purnima period. The ritual involved the traditional offering of sacred ash to the deity.
During the ceremonies, the deity was adorned with elaborate decorations including red vermilion, sandalwood, and various ornaments. Rituals included Jalabhishek using Panchamrit—a mixture of milk, curd, ghee, honey, and fruit juice—followed by Kapur Aarti. The temple atmosphere was marked by Vedic chants, bells, and conch shells as large crowds of pilgrims waited to receive darshan.
