Mahamudu Bawumia holds consultations on digitalization and infrastructure
Former Vice President and New Patriotic Party presidential candidate Dr. Mahamudu Bawumia has held a series of consultations focused on Ghana’s economic and developmental strategies.
In a meeting with Japanese Ambassador Hiroshi Yoshimoto and representatives from the Japan International Cooperation Agency (JICA), discussions centered on strengthening bilateral ties. Key topics included digitalization, fintech, artificial intelligence, flood control, and methods to combat illegal mining, known as galamsey. The engagement highlights Japan’s long-standing role in supporting Ghana’s infrastructure, health, and agriculture sectors.
Additionally, Dr. Bawumia met with the Ghana Institution of Engineering (GhIE) to discuss innovative solutions to national challenges. The dialogue with engineers focused on urban transport, infrastructure development, public procurement, and ensuring value for money in government projects. Dr. Bawumia emphasized the necessity of incorporating professional expertise from scientists and technologists into policy formulation to address complex developmental issues.
