Mahan Air launches Tehran to Ho Chi Minh City flight service

Iranian airline Mahan Air has commenced new flight operations connecting Tehran to Ho Chi Minh City. On August 31, 2026, flight W5 5113, operated by a Boeing 777-200, landed at Tan Son Nhat International Airport at 8:55 AM carrying nearly 300 passengers.

Vietnam Airport Ground Services (VIAGS) managed the ground operations for this inaugural flight. The new route establishes a rare direct aviation link between Vietnam and Iran. According to flight schedule updates, the service is initially set to operate twice a week. Plans indicate an increase to once-weekly service starting October 25, with a transition to Airbus A340 aircraft.
