Maharaja thriller set for Hollywood remake

The 2024 Tamil thriller ‘Maharaja’, starring Vijay Sethupathi, is being developed for a Hollywood remake. Producer Sudhan Sundaram confirmed that a Hollywood agency approached the filmmakers to acquire the remake rights following the film’s successful theatrical run in China and its performance on streaming platforms.

Discussions are currently underway to cast an A-list Hollywood actor for the lead role originally played by Sethupathi. While Matthew McConaughey is reportedly among the names being considered, his involvement has not yet been officially confirmed. The production is expected to begin filming next year.
