Maharashtra CM Fadnavis addresses MPSC leak and school meal policy
Maharashtra Chief Minister Devendra Fadnavis has taken steps to address two distinct administrative issues in the state. Regarding education, Fadnavis directed the School Education and Women and Child Development departments to create a joint policy to ensure the timely delivery of fresh, nutritious meals under the Pradhan Mantri Poshan Shakti Nirman Yojana. He requested a feasibility study on extending these benefits from students in Classes 1 through 8 to include those up to Class 10.
In response to protests over a paper leak in the Maharashtra Public Service Commission (MPSC) Drug Inspector examination, Fadnavis has recommended that Governor Jishnu Dev Varma constitute a high-level judicial inquiry. The proposed committee, led by a retired High Court judge, would investigate allegations against current and former MPSC officials under Article 317 of the Constitution. Following discussions with student representatives, MPSC Secretary Mahendra Harpalkar has been relieved of his duties, and several individuals have been arrested in connection with the examination leak.
