Maharashtra Exam Papers Allegedly Leaked Amid Probes into MHT-CET and MPSC Recruitment Tests
Maharashtra Congress President Nitesh Sapkal alleged that the question paper for the Maharashtra Public Service Commission (MPSC) Drug Inspector recruitment exam was leaked on WhatsApp before the test, prompting the commission to launch an investigation and announce an upcoming police complaint. A viral audio clip surfaced in which a woman purportedly offered a "special" engineering entrance centre for Rs 12 lakh, guaranteeing an exceptionally high percentile. The Maharashtra State CET Cell lodged a police complaint, engaged the state cyber cell and Azad Maidan police, and sought a detailed probe of the clip and related videos. CET Cell Commissioner Dileep Sardesai said such variations between board scores and MH‑CET results are common, but the alleged bribery offer was unverified and no FIR had been filed yet.
The MPSC issued an official clarification stating that it had received a complaint about the alleged paper leak, that the offline screening was held on 22 March 2026, and that it would register a police complaint after reviewing the evidence. The controversy has drawn criticism from multiple political parties, with demands for an impartial, transparent investigation to safeguard the credibility of Maharashtra’s public examination system.
