Maharashtra government addresses reservation demands and exam reforms

Maharashtra Chief Minister Devendra Fadnavis has addressed the state’s ongoing reservation debate, stating that while the government will listen to various community demands, all actions must remain within the constitutional framework. Fadnavis emphasized that the government will not grant reservations that infringe upon the rights of other existing groups, including OBCs, Scheduled Castes, and Scheduled Tribes.

In a separate administrative move, Fadnavis has ordered the formation of a high-level committee to reform the state’s government recruitment examination system. Led by Additional Chief Secretary V. Radha, the panel is tasked with conducting consultations across all revenue divisions to improve the security, transparency, and credibility of exams.

The Chief Minister also directed officials to implement stringent central laws to curb paper leaks and instructed the development of 25,000 secure classrooms to enhance examination security across the state.
