Maharashtra Graduate Constituency Election counting begins

Counting for the Legislative Council graduate constituency elections is underway in Maharashtra. In the Marathwada constituency, votes for 41 candidates are being counted across 28 tables at Resonate Logistics LLP in Chikalthana. Following a 58.67% voter turnout on October 23, strict security measures have been implemented, including a 100-meter restricted zone and a ban on electronic devices and flammable materials.

Simultaneously, counting for the Nagpur Division constituency commenced at the Mankapur Indoor Stadium. For this seat, 38 candidates are competing, with 84 tables and over 400 officials assigned to the process. While voter turnout across the six districts of the division ranged from 60.35% in Nagpur to 73.05% in Chandrapur, candidate Mangesh Wankhede has raised concerns regarding transparency, alleging that 14 to 15 CCTV cameras in the strong room were non-functional for approximately ninety minutes.
