Maharashtra seeks bids for floating solar and green hydrogen projects
The Godavari Marathwada Irrigation Development Corporation (GMIDC) of Maharashtra has released a tender inviting Expressions of Interest (EOIs) for a 200 MW floating solar PV plant with an integrated Battery Energy Storage System (BESS) on the Purna Project reservoir in Hingoli district. The PPP‑style project will cover design, supply, installation, commissioning, operation and maintenance, with bids accepted until August 11, 2026.
MahaGenco Renewable Energy Limited, a subsidiary of Maharashtra State Power Generation Company, has also issued an EOI seeking industrial buyers for green hydrogen and green ammonia produced at its upcoming Uran facility in Raigad district. The first phase aims to produce about 2 kTPA of each product, with a minimum offtake of 0.2 kTPA and plans to scale up to roughly 50 kTPA. Interested parties include refineries, fertilizer makers, steel producers, city‑gas distributors and fuel‑cell operators, primarily from the Mumbai Metropolitan Region and surrounding industrial belts.
