Maharashtra leaders clash over alleged temple fund looting

Shiv Sena (UBT) leader and MLA Aaditya Thackeray accused the ruling BJP of using the Uniform Civil Code debate as a distraction from alleged financial irregularities at the Ayodhya Ram Mandir trust. He called the BJP the “Babar Janata Party” and urged the Supreme Court to intervene, noting that the court will hear petitions on an independent probe of the Shri Ram Janmabhoomi Teerth Kshetra Trust on July 13.

Deputy Chief Minister Eknath Shinde, speaking in the Maharashtra Assembly, attacked former Chief Minister Uddhav Thackeray, questioning why he remained silent over alleged donation theft at Mumbai’s Siddhivinayak Temple. Shinde linked the issue to the ongoing Ayodhya investigation, highlighting that a Special Investigation Team has already made arrests and pledged strict accountability. He demanded a probe into the Siddhivinayak fund management during the previous MVA administration.
