Maharashtra mandates 120-hour internships for degree students

In accordance with the National Education Policy 2020 and directives from the Maharashtra government, a mandatory 120-hour internship program has been introduced for third-year degree students. The initiative aims to enhance students' employability by providing practical work experience and developing professional skills alongside their academic studies.

In the Nanded district, the program is being implemented through a coordinated effort between the district administration, Swami Ramanand Teerth Marathwada University, and local colleges. Students will have opportunities to intern at various government, semi-government, local self-government, and non-governmental organizations related to their specific fields of study.

Colleges are required to appoint professor coordinators to oversee daily supervision and maintain contact with host organizations. Upon successful completion of the 120 hours, students will receive a certificate signed by the head of the respective office. Students are expected to strictly adhere to office discipline, working hours, ethics, and confidentiality regulations during their training period.
