Maharashtra police investigate sexual assault and exploitation cases

Police in Maharashtra are conducting extensive investigations into separate sexual assault and exploitation cases involving the seizure of digital and physical evidence.

In Thane, authorities executed a search warrant at the residence of a 19-year-old suspect linked to a Nagpur sexual assault investigation. Officers recovered surgical blades, knives, specialized BDSM equipment, and electronic devices. Forensic specialists are analyzing the seized items, including comparing surgical blades found in Thane to those previously recovered from a rented apartment in Nagpur to establish a physical evidence trail.

In Nandurbar district, a 22-year-old man, identified as Chetan Prakash Koli, was arrested for allegedly sexually abusing minors and men. Authorities reported that Koli lured victims with money and used blackmail, threatening to circulate videos on social media. During a search of his mobile phone, police recovered more than 600 obscene videos and photographs. Superintendent of Police Ashwini Sanap stated that investigators are working to identify individuals appearing in the footage to record their statements.
