Maharashtra Shiv Sena split as six MPs plan to quit UBT

Six Maharashtra Lok Sabha MPs—Sanjay Jadhav, Sanjay Deshmukh, Omraje Nimbalkar, Bhausaheb Vakhare, Nagesh Patil Ashtikar and Sanjay Dina Patil—are preparing a joint press conference in Mumbai to formally announce their exit from Uddhav Thackeray’s Shiv Sena (UBT). The rebels have already met Lok Sabha Speaker Om Birla in Delhi, presented a letter detailing their departure and requested seating changes in the house. After the announcement, they are expected to meet Maharashtra Deputy Chief Minister and Shiv Sena chief Eknath Shinde to discuss their future alignment. The six MPs arrived in Delhi from various cities (Chennai, Kolkata, Pune and others) before traveling to Mumbai for the event. Their split could significantly reshape the balance of power within Maharashtra’s Shiv Sena and affect the state’s political dynamics.
