Maharashtra task force begins consultations to reform recruitment exams

A high-level task force established by the Maharashtra government has launched a series of consultations to reform the state's competitive recruitment examination system. The initiative aims to enhance security, transparency, and reliability following concerns regarding paper leaks and protests from aspirants.

Chaired by V. Radha, Additional Chief Secretary (Services), the task force is conducting division-wise meetings across Maharashtra, including locations such as Pune, Nagpur, Amravati, Chhatrapati Sambhajinagar, Konkan, and Nashik. These sessions involve direct interaction with students, parents, teachers, and educational institutions to gather feedback on issues such as exam timetables, question paper quality, vacancy announcements, and grievance redressal.

To prevent leaks, the committee plans to utilize advanced technology during the creation, printing, and distribution of exam materials. Notably, the task force announced that competitive examinations will not be conducted online for the upcoming year; instead, they will utilize the Optical Mark Recognition (OMR) sheet pattern under new standardized operating guidelines.
