Maharashtra to honor 106 Samyukta Maharashtra martyrs at Air India building
The Maharashtra Government has decided to provide permanent recognition to the 106 martyrs of the Samyukta Maharashtra movement. Their names will be prominently displayed on a visible section of the main entrance of Air India’s new administrative building in Mumbai.
Chief Minister Devendra Fadnavis has approved the proposal and directed the state's Chief Secretary to initiate the necessary actions. The initiative follows a request from Cultural Affairs Minister Ashish Shelar, who emphasized the importance of preserving the legacy of the movement for future generations.
The installation of the names will be integrated into the ongoing renovation of the government-acquired Air India building, ensuring the tribute is in place before administrative operations commence at the site.
