Maharashtra to launch Arogya Samvad Yatra to review public health
Maharashtra Health Minister Prakash Abitkar will launch the ‘Arogya Samvad Yatra’ (Health Dialogue Journey) from November 1 to December 5, 2026. The state-wide campaign aims to improve the efficiency and quality of the public healthcare system by facilitating direct interaction between the minister and citizens.
The initiative will involve reviewing healthcare services, evaluating the reach of public health schemes, and assessing facilities in health institutions. The review will cover the ground reality of five Primary Health Centres and two Rural Hospitals in each district, as well as services ranging from sub-centres to specialized hospitals.
Through meetings at various local levels, officials will seek feedback on manpower, drug supply, and patient care. The campaign will also raise awareness regarding services such as the Mahatma Jyotirao Phule Jan Arogya Yojana, free dialysis, MRI and CT scans, and telemedicine, while integrating with the ‘Majha Gaon, Arogyasampanna Gaon’ campaign to promote sanitation and nutrition.
