Mahayuti alliance to contest Maharashtra local polls together
The ruling Mahayuti alliance in Maharashtra has decided to contest upcoming panchayat and municipal council elections as a united front. Following a high-level coordination meeting, BJP leader and Revenue Minister Chandrashekhar Bawankule announced that the coalition members have agreed to a mandatory formula to prevent internal friction.
As part of this agreement, alliance constituents have committed to refraining from making critical or contradictory remarks against one another. Bawankule emphasized that there should be no confusion or public criticism among the approximately 12 political parties within the Mahayuti dispensation, which includes the BJP, Shiv Sena, and NCP.
The coordination committee, which included Chief Minister Devendra Fadnavis and Deputy CMs Eknath Shinde and Sunetra Pawar, plans to meet every two months to maintain effective communication, manage development funds, and ensure the implementation of shared promises to the electorate.
