Mahershala Ali moves on from Marvel’s Blade project

Actor Mahershala Ali has indicated he has moved on from the highly anticipated Marvel Studios reboot of ‘Blade’. Despite relocating to Atlanta and undergoing intense physical training for the role, Ali suffered a knee injury during the process.

Marvel Studios President Kevin Feige expressed significant frustration regarding the project's lack of progress, stating he feels like a ‘gigantic loser and failure’ that the production did not get off the ground with Ali. Ali responded to these comments by suggesting Feige ‘should feel that way.’

The stalling of ‘Blade’ follows a pattern of recent delays and cancellations within the Marvel Cinematic Universe, including the Disney+ series ‘Wonder Man’. These developments have led to criticism from fans and media observers who question if Black-led projects are being sidelined or facing more obstacles than other properties, contrasting the recent era with the massive mainstream success seen with ‘Black Panther’ and ‘Black Panther: Wakanda Forever’.
