Your Mother Your Mother Your Mother Mahershala Ali Bassam Tariq action drama film review

Bassam Tariq’s thriller, ‘Your Mother Your Mother Your Mother,’ follows Latif, a devout Muslim hitman played by Mahershala Ali, as he navigates life in Houston following the sudden death of his wife, Khadija.

The film blends action with domestic drama, centering on Latif’s struggle to care for his children—teenage daughter Fatiha, son Qadir, and infant daughter Aziza—while managing a violent professional life. A central conflict arises from the infant's need for breast milk, driving the family to seek help at their local mosque.

As Latif attempts to balance his moral code and faith with his duties as a father, he becomes entangled with the criminal underworld. This includes a confrontation with a mobster named Mike, who demands Latif assassinate Pastor Hwan, a figure who has publicly challenged a mob-linked business. The film is noted for its emotional depth and its portrayal of grief and family connection amidst genre-driven tension.
