Mahershala Ali to star in new thriller ‘Your Mother Your Mother Your Mother’

Actor Mahershala Ali is set to star in the action thriller ‘Your Mother Your Mother Your Mother’, directed by Bassam Tariq. The film is scheduled for a premiere at the Toronto International Film Festival before its theatrical release on September 25, 2026, via Amazon MGM Studios.

The project serves as a creative successor to Ali’s long-delayed ‘Blade’ film at Marvel Studios. Following years of development shifts, rewrites, and director changes, the collaboration between Ali and Tariq—who previously worked on the ‘Blade’ project—will utilize the sword-fighting training Ali underwent for the Marvel role. The new film follows Ali as Latif, a religious hitman navigating life after the death of his wife.
