Mahershala Ali’s new film earns 100% Rotten Tomatoes score

Mahershala Ali’s new action thriller, ‘Your Mother Your Mother Your Mother’, has received significant early critical acclaim, earning a 100% score on Rotten Tomatoes and an 82/100 on Metacritic following its premiere at the Toronto International Film Festival.

Directed by Bassam Tariq, the film follows Latif, a religious Muslim hitman played by Ali, as he navigates the complexities of faith, grief, and fatherhood following the death of his wife. The story focuses on his struggle to protect his children while operating within a violent profession. The cast includes John Cho, Giancarlo Esposito, and Abubakr Ali.

Ali noted that his extensive physical training for the previously stalled Marvel project, ‘Blade’, ultimately benefited this production. Having spent over a year preparing for the role of the Daywalker, Ali expressed gratitude that the preparation and financial support from Marvel contributed to his ability to perform in this new film.
