Mahhi Vij reveals she lost Mani Ratnam role to Kareena Kapoor

Television actress Mahhi Vij has revealed that she was originally selected by filmmaker Mani Ratnam for the role of Meera in the 2004 film ‘Yuva’. The character was ultimately portrayed by Kareena Kapoor opposite Vivek Oberoi.

During a conversation with fellow contestant Kanika Mann, Vij detailed her early career trajectory, which included successful music videos and roles in South Indian cinema alongside actors such as Prabhu Deva and Mammootty. She noted that the opportunity for her Bollywood debut in ‘Yuva’ failed to materialize because her ‘equations with someone had gone a little sour’ during the process.
