Mahima Menon blends Carnatic music and cancer awareness

Mahima Menon, a senior at Liberty High School and aspiring oncologist, is integrating her musical talents with cancer awareness through a local student group.

Menon has been trained in both Carnatic-style classical music from South India and Western pop techniques. Her diverse musical background led to professional success at age 12, when she was selected to record a song in Malayalam for the 2025 Bollywood film sequel ‘L2: Empuraan’.

Having moved to Renton, US, at age three, Menon credits her parents for maintaining her connection to her Indian heritage by ensuring she learned Malayalam at home.
