Mahindra advances SUV lineup with Vision S and Thar Electric prototypes

Mahindra & Mahindra is preparing to launch the Vision S, a production-ready subcompact SUV based on the NU_IQ platform. The vehicle will support multiple powertrain options, including petrol, diesel, hybrid, and electric. Design elements expected to be carried over from recent concepts include a signature six-slat grille, L-shaped LED headlamps, and an integrated radar module for an advanced driver assistance system (ADAS).

Additionally, a heavily camouflaged five-door Mahindra Thar Electric prototype has been spotted testing on public roads. The vehicle maintains design cues from the Vision T concept, such as a boxy silhouette, squared-off headlights, and flared wheel arches. The prototype features a five-door layout and large wheels, signaling a significant step in Mahindra’s electric off-road vehicle development.
