Mahindra and Fujiyama announce major Indian manufacturing expansions

Mahindra & Mahindra is advancing its manufacturing expansion in India, moving toward the possession of approximately 800 acres in Nagpur, Maharashtra. This land forms the first major portion of a planned 1,500-acre greenfield complex. The project involves a ₹15,000 crore investment and is designed as a flexible ecosystem capable of producing internal-combustion engine vehicles, electric vehicles, and tractors. Once fully operational, the facility aims for a total annual capacity exceeding 6 lakh units, with production scheduled to begin in 2028.

Separately, Fujiyama Power System has approved an additional 1 GWh of lithium battery manufacturing capacity at its Ratlam plant in Madhya Pradesh. This ₹5 crore investment follows a previously announced 2 GWh expansion at the same site. The company expects to begin commercial operations for this new capacity by the second quarter of fiscal year 2026-27. The Ratlam complex is intended to integrate solar panels, power electronics, and battery manufacturing in a single location.
