Mahindra BE 6 SPORTEQ enters Indian EV market
Mahindra has introduced the BE 6 SPORTEQ, an electric vehicle positioned to compete with luxury segments at a more accessible price point. Starting at ₹19.45 lakh with a 59kWh battery, or ₹11.45 lakh through a Battery as a Service (BaaS) model, the vehicle features various battery options including 70kWh and 79kWh variants.
The SPORTEQ emphasizes advanced technology, featuring the MAIA AI platform and a digital cockpit with up to three screens in higher variants. Design elements include motorsport-inspired details in the Formula E Freedom Edition.
In the broader Indian electric vehicle market, the Mahindra BE 6 is identified as a primary technology-focused rival to the Hyundai Creta Electric. Other notable competitors in the segment include the Tata Curvv EV, MG Windsor EV, and Tata Harrier EV, each catering to different consumer priorities such as crossover styling, value, or larger SUV dimensions.
