Mahindra begins production of MaxSeeder zero-till machine

Mahindra & Mahindra has commenced commercial production and supply of the MaxSeeder, a precision ‘zero-till’ multi-crop seeding machine. Manufactured under license from Canada-based Clean Seed Technologies, the machine is produced at Mahindra’s farm machinery plant in Pithampur, Madhya Pradesh.

The MaxSeeder is designed to sow various crops, including rice, wheat, soybean, maize, and cotton. A key feature of its zero-till technology is the ability to sow directly into paddy residue, which provides a sustainable alternative to stubble burning. The technology is engineered to work with lower-horsepower tractors (35 HP or above), increasing accessibility for farmers.

According to the company, the machine aims to improve farm profitability by reducing fertilizer usage and seed wastage. Following successful field trials in Punjab and Haryana, the product will be rolled out through Mahindra Farm Equipment Business dealerships as part of a phased expansion across India.
