Mahindra drives surge in Indian vehicle sales as EV registrations hit record in June 2026

India’s electric passenger‑vehicle market posted a strong June 2026, with total Vahan registrations reaching 30,592 units – a 105.3% increase year‑on‑year. Tata Motors led with 12,077 registrations, followed by Mahindra (7,683) and MG (5,811). New entrants such as Maruti Suzuki and Vinfast also added significant volumes, expanding market competition.

In the same month Mahindra & Mahindra reported total vehicle sales of 106,207 units, a 37% rise from June 2025. The growth came from utility vehicles (+28%), commercial vehicles (+35%) and three‑wheelers, including electric models, which surged 63% to 13,820 units. Exports contributed to the overall increase, underscoring Mahindra’s expanding domestic and overseas footprint.
