Mahir Polat hospitalized following chest pains

Mahir Polat, Deputy Secretary General of the Istanbul Metropolitan Municipality (IBB), has been hospitalized following severe chest pains, spasms, and left arm pain. Due to concerns regarding a potential heart attack, doctors placed him under observation in the cardiology department.

Polat released a statement via social media indicating that he is feeling better and is continuing his ongoing cardiological treatment program. He expressed gratitude to those who sent well wishes.

Polat has a history of health issues, including hypertension, diabetes, and sleep apnea. He was previously released from prison to house arrest due to these health conditions during an investigation involving the IBB, before eventually returning to his official duties.
