MAHLE and Rohde & Schwarz develop ADAS sensor testing application
Technology companies MAHLE and Rohde & Schwarz have co-developed a technical application designed to reliably test Advanced Driver Assistance Systems (ADAS) sensors following vehicle repairs. The solution combines MAHLE Lifecycle and Mobility’s TechPRO Digital ADAS 2.0 Extra calibration system with the Rohde & Schwarz R&S RadEsT radar tester.
Previously, there were no standardized measurement procedures for testing ADAS sensors after accidents or bodywork repairs. This new platform allows technicians to verify correct alignment and functionality, providing measurable, traceable, and standardized evaluation of system performance. The system is intended for use by automotive workshops, service centers, manufacturers, insurance companies, and regulatory agencies.
In addition to post-repair verification, the technology is designed for quality and performance testing through the simulation of normal and abnormal system states. The developers noted that the resulting audit-ready data could eventually serve as a foundation for periodic technical inspections (PTI), regulatory requirements, and insurance assessments.
